I’m building out this site in order to share one of my most successful and fruitful teaching approaches to jazz drum comping and soloing.

THE BASIC IDEA:: With a very simple group of 2-3 drumming “elements” or ideas, an entire jazz vocabulary can be developed by almost any curious and committed drum student. Whether raw beginner just starting or advanced professional looking to broaden their creative language, this is a path that can work.

I know because I’ve used it as part of my teaching practice for 45 years.
